The CAIRNS homepage displays a screen allowing you to carry out a simple title keyword search across a number of online catalogues describing the collections of many Scottish libraries. Just enter your search term and click the Search button to start your search.
It may take a little time before you see the results displayed, because the search will be carried out on all available CAIRNS catalogues.
You can improve the precision of your search by using the Advanced search option, which allows you to specify the index to search from a choice of author, subject, title, ISBN and ISSN, as well as which specific catalogues to search.
You can use the Miniclumps option to select a miniclump: a selection of CAIRNS catalogues and search indexes preset for specific groups of users.
Use the Simple search option to revert back to a title keyword search across all of the CAIRNS catalogues.
